For this instalment of “inspirational artist Friday”, I could think of no one more fitting than Mr. Alex Ross. Though it probably doesn’t show much in my own drawing style, Alex Ross remains one of the most inspirational artists I’ve ever come across. His passion for the world of comics shows through in every beautifully painted panel, and his incredible ability to make the fantastic look possible is why I’ve enjoyed every project he’s ever been attached to. His iconic images of the Justice League are more than just pretty paintings: in a single pose, gesture, or perfectly captured body language, he is able to tell a character’s entire story. If you haven’t already, scope out as much work by Alex Ross as you can. As cliched as it sounds, he will make you believe a man can fly.

Favorite Comic Book Characters | Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

I don’t hear any voices. Nothing inside screaming you cannot do this. Or telling me to go and “find” myself. No more soul searching road trips. I’m Hal Jordan. Man. Pilot. Green Lantern.”
